O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
We were blessed and touched by our fellow sisters and brothers who opened their hearts and allowed themselves to be vulnerable as they shared about their faith experiences from the recent Treasure Retreat.
Jesus Knows My Heart
A sister shared that she began the retreat with lots of inertia and hesitation in her heart especially with the heavy work responsibilities and load that preoccupied her week. However, by the grace of our Lord, she was reminded of the two bible verses below:
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
“Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
She had learnt that God’s light continues to shine deeply in areas of our lives where we may not even be aware of, or areas which we perceive to have been fully healed from. A clear and personal message she had received from the Lord was that even though she was tired, she should continue to let go, and let God do the rest. God is our creator and our maker, and He knows what’s best for us.
Our sister then shared about how her previous relationship tapered off soon after discernment from an Engagement Encounter (EE) programme. And incidentally, during the Treasure retreat, she was greeted by a lady whom she met briefly at the same EE batch. During their conversation, the lady shared a similar experience of withdrawing from her relationship as she felt that she and her fiancé were not spiritually ready for a marriage and required further spiritual formation. She prayed about it and did not wish to make a hasty decision for a lifelong commitment to the sacrament of matrimony. The lady’s words truly touched our sister as it shared many similarities with the experience she had gone through. Upon reflection, our sister realised that she was still in the process of finding closure with this experience, and she was glad to find a deeper sense of healing and comfort in knowing that she’s not alone. Our God is a God of details. Praise God!
